Under the name of Lydia Hawke, Lydia C. Fitzen has written Civil War novels: Firetrail, which was adapted into a feature-length movie; and Perfect Disguise, currently being filmed by Forbes Film.  Exiles on the Saint Johns and its sequel, Raiders on the Saint Johns, are also Civil War novels set in her home territory of northeast Florida written under her own name.

A pet lover, Lydia has penned dog-oriented stories. The romantic suspense novel, Silent Witness, is set in the world of agility trials.  “Getting It!” and “Angus, the Vampire Slayer” are short stories that are available upon request.

A writer for Civil War News, Clay Today Newspaper, and various dog publications, Lydia helps her husband run an electrical contracting business. Lydia can be found exploring Civil War reenactments and participating in dog shows on the weekends. She shows her nationally-known Foxfire collies in conformation and agility and holds an office in several dog clubs. Lydia is a member of
