Rozetta was born in Athens, TN. After the murder of her mother she and her siblings were placed into the foster care system. Collectively she spent over 12 years in foster care, before and after her mother’s death. She graduated with honors from Polk County High School and began a career in the banking industry in Cleveland, TN. Three years later she married and moved to south Florida. After living in domestic violence for 15 years she divorced her husband and attended college. She obtained her real estate license and worked as an executive assistant for major corporations in south Florida.
Her book, Tragedy in Tin Can Holler made an enormous impact regarding the foster care system and is required reading for all foster parents in the jurisdiction of the Holston United Methodist Home for Children in Greeneville, TN. She currently resides in Tampa, FL with her 3 children and 5 grandchildren. She continues her advocacy work and is a consultant to a production company that is writing a script of her family story for a cable TV series.
